Roy is a professional conman, who has raised his work to the level of an art. The only true thing he has is his love for Simmi someone who is so rooted, honest and sincere, that he can't bring himself to tell her the reality of who he is. But when his past catches up with him, she cannot forgive him for the deceit their relationship is built on. He loses her forever. That's when Aditya Srivastav enters the picture. He is the counterpoint to everything that Roy is as frantic as Roy is calm, as dumb as Roy is smart, as messy and untidy as Roy is smooth. They have only one thing in common. Aditya is a conman too. At least he thinks of himself as one. In Roy's book, he's an embarrassment. But one that won't go away!
a bad movie if you want to see actual cons but a great one if you want to see abhishek doing all the things he does best - looking cool, being an awkward dork, being funny, being angry, referencing his dad and his friends, wearing flared jeans and big-collared half-buttoned shirts, staring at his gf intensely in a way that is both sexy and terrifying. fun soundtrack and looks really good in a low key way, it wasn't boldly atmospheric but i wanted to take so many screenshots of lovely individual moments. has the most "damn my life a movie fr" ending that's so silly and corny i couldn't help but love it, the twist in the plot is predictable but i can't say i predicted a conman story to be a wholesome rumination on being a good person and living life to the fullest, so, you win movie
okay hear me out... dhoom 4 x bluffmaster crossover where abhishek plays both the cop (jai) and the thief (roy). insert identity swapping hijinks, mirror symbolism, a zillion floral shirts, and a not-so-surprising twist ending that sets up jai as the thief for dhoom 5!
Refreshing even after 19 years of release. A bit too mildly treated for a plot which is full of adrenaline rush, the conman parts could have been done in a more exciting manner. Young Abhishek is such an underrated performer, too bad that Bollywood couldn't tap on his naturally suave and cool guy persona. Apt cast and banger soundtrack make Bluffmaster! a classic watch. Miss this experimentative era of Hindi movies.
This movie is so good, I hate the fact that it is so underrated. Junior AB is a great actor and has a vibe and charisma of his own, and the rap was very very good. I love the cast, everybody were perfectly cast, but if have to mention my favorite, it definitely would be Nana & Boman. Plus the music was really awesome.
that the overall shape of the game should be immediately apparent to anyone familiar with the conman genre isn't a problem, that rohan sippy can't quite sell the pure intoxication of the flagrantly manipulative image or gesture is. best at the boldest moments of stylization, and it's hard not to wish for a film that followed through on that promise (or to imagine a shaad ali or farah khan approaching this same material). abhishek almost saves it, priyanka does her best to undo his work.
