I've been using an older version of OVJ for quite some time.  I decided finally to upgrade to the latest version.  I tried it out on my desktop and it seemed to work great, so I loaded it on my laptop.  The problem is that on my laptop, once the UI is all drawn, when I drag a clip to a layer, the clip doesn't play, and an 'Error Loading Layer' message is shown in the console.

Any idea what might be wrong?

Thanks,

Jeff

Do you have AIR 1.5.3 or later? please reinstall.

Figured out the problem.  It was the version of AIR I had installed.  For a little bit, the current version of AIR must have been slower.  When it updated automatically last night, my problems went away.

How can I convert ONR files to something more useful like swf or avi?

thanks

I just wrote a JPG recorder which creates a Jpg file sequence.
You can then use for instance flash pro to create a SWF by importing
the 1st file and flash pro recognizes it as a jpg file sequence

well, because i don't like adobe i use ffmpeg from the command line to turn a .mov or .avi into a .png sequence (better resolution than .jpg) and then another ffmpeg to turn the sequence into .swf

but, i have no control over the timeline of the clip... any ideas?

Here are the command lines I use with ffmpeg:

/cygdrive/c/Program\ Files/ffmpeg/bin/ffmpeg -s 320x240 -i $f -f image2 vidtmp/%05d.png
/cygdrive/c/Program\ Files/ffmpeg/bin/ffmpeg -i vidtmp/%05d.png -f avm2 -b 10000k swf/$G

the -f avm2 causes it to use the correct version of flash so that the timeline works.

Will ffmpeg recognize the ONR file as a series of jpgs?

thanks for the command line arguments, it is sure onyx-vj needs avm2
SWFs.
ONR file are not jpg sequences.
please update your Onyx-VJ setup to 4.3.0 so that you can use the new
FLVrecorder module, which creates a FLV file of onyx output.
alternatively, there is also a new JPG recorder module which creates a
JPG sequence of onyx output
these files are created in the 'path to you library'/recorded folder

ONR is a specific file format for onyx/flash. It's a series of gzipped frames. Someone could make an air app that converted them to jpegs ... I think batchass's new plugin would do wonders with it .......
