to Onyx Mailing List
hi everyone,

so i've been through the mailing list a few times trying to trouble-
shoot midi issues. thought i'd open it up to the list since I'm not
making much progress after a few days.

i've tried just about every combination with midi2.jar (both 64+86)
with no luck. i can verify that the device is "seeable" to the OS -
it's recognized by Midi-OX and I just got it firing in Resolume.
unfortunately, the same MIDI settings don't work with Onyx-VJ.

any input would be appreciated.

my setup:

win7 (64 bit) / ubu10.10 (32+64)
AMD Phenom 2 N850 (triple-core at 2.2GHz)
4gb ram
Acer Asipre 5552

Onyx-4.3.0

*** i have been focusing on the win7 side first, hoping I can save the
map file in Windows and bring it over to Linux (after many dead-ends
with Jack and Alsa). If anyone out there has any input on configuring
MIDI for Onyx on Linux, I'd be stoked to hear that as well.

*** is there a way to create a map for onyx without using the auto-
detect? the nanokontrol has a software package (korg editor) that
lets you manually assign the MIDI note/type and I'm thinking of trying
manual assignments to see if it takes on either win and ubu.

=)
