Does anybody know if the net.ontopia.topicmaps.impl.rdbms.Cache.shared
for RDBMS is turned by default without it being stated in the property
file ?
Docu says it is turned on by default when using the navigator
framework.
Does that mean it also includes the use of tmrap ?

Yes, it does. TMRAP is based on the same underlying Java framework.
