Hi All,
I have lost access to the two Linux VMs that I was using here at the University of Illinois to develop and test Ontopia apps. Now that I am only working here as an adjunct, I don't have access to the computing resources of the research center that formerly employed me.
I was considering going back to eapps.com, where a cloud machine that would support good Ontopiai response time (2 GB RAM) would cost me about $80/month. That seemed high based upon my current fiscal circumstances. Also, it would only give me one machine (no separation between development and production). I was also considering buying a small HP server and running virtualized Linux on it. This would give me 2 or more virtual machines. But, I am concerned that the cash outlay is also beyond my means.
Can any of you suggest cloud or dedicated server resource alternatives that I might want to consider? I tend to think big. But, I have modest means. So, I could use all of the suggestions that you are willing to share.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best Regards,
Kevin
