We've accumulated a number of important changes to Ontopia since we released 5.0.2, and so it might be time for a new release. There are several main changes I think deserve to be released:
- the fix to issue 135 (which people keep running into),
- the tolog updates support,
- the support for JTM 1.0, and
- the new generic query plugin.
On top of that come things like the new topic map upload function, the optimizations in the in-memory backend, a number of bug fixes, and so on.
I think there are two ways we could do this:
- release 5.0.3 with only selected bug fixes (issues 135 and 163 at
least, but maybe more),
- release 5.1 from trunk with everything.
The benefit of doing 5.0.3 is that we can do it immediately. The benefit of doing 5.1 is, of course, that it includes everything. As far as I can see, this is what must be done before we release 5.1:
- finish fix to issue 154 (topic map upload form), and
- remove old query plug-in.
However, it would also be nice if we could:
- document tolog updates,
- add a tolog update TMRAP request,
- add tests for JTM 1.0 based on the cxtm-tests,
- resolve issue 162 (TopicNameIF.getType()), and
- finalize the TopicIF.getRolesByType optimization.
Thoughts on this? Did I forget anything?
