GraphDB with ONTOP for virtual SQL access. And ontology features.

Hi

To make use of GraphDB engine for reason and inference, and GraphDB UI for visualisation, needs extra care.

How to?

I set up a virtual ONTOP GraphDB DB to access some SQL DB. and giving OBDA and Ontology definition.

From the result trying to open a visual graph is less successful. No definitions to guid GraphDB workbench UI.

I investigate a little, finding that I need another GraphDB DB to add the ontology in. And I need to use federated queries across ONTOP DB and Ontology DB to make to use of ontology and GDB UI features.

This is complex setup.

Is there a better way to combine virtual graph with ONTOP and SPQRL / Ontology gains?

Any suggested path forward? I am happy to receive any thoughts and comments.
