For the date 9/16/25, the numbers represent the sum of the squares on the two sides:  3 squared + 4 squared = 5 squared.

But   there are other ways of defining Pythagorean days.  December 16, 2020 (12/16/20) could also be called a Pythagorean day since 12 squared is 144, 16 squared is 256, and the sum of those two squares is 400, which happens to be 20 squared.

Pythagoras never anticipated anybody celebrating those days, since the ancient Greeks never used any such notation for representing dates.
