Moving OCATS forward

Hello OCATS member. 

I've been working to move some OCATS things ahead. 

1) OCATS meeting at HPL. What is the week of June 8th like for everyone? I am thinking we could meet on June 12, if that works. We would plan to have a 2 hour meeting to set up the terms  of this group and how we want to move this forward and possibly a couple of discussion topics. Please email me: tmo...@hpl.ca and let me know your thoughts on this. I would like to keep this to 2 hours at the most. 

2) More cataloguing content at OLA Superconference. I am serving on the OLITA council this year. Chatting with the OLA yesterday, they thought that the Indigenous cataloguing and technical services stream that was proposed for last year was VERY successful. We should consider what we could propose as a stream this year. As part of that, we could ask that all stream presenters be allowed to present on the same day... more bang for your conference buck. I'll set up a section here in the OCATS group for those who want to talk about this and propose a stream to OLA Superconference.

3) Did you know about the collections managers secret meetings at OLA Superconference? With OLA Superconference being a vendor sponsored event, there are limits to what can be talked about at sessions. There is always a meeting of collections managers at the Superconference, usually in a room during the keynote. They meet and talk about the things that can't be talked about in front of vendors... mostly bitching and problem solving. OLA would be happy to do the same for cataloguing and tech services managers and staff. Would this be of interest to those who attend? I am happy to facilitate this for OLA Superconference 2021. Please post your thoughts on this to the group.
