I thought that I'd see how much interest there would be in my running the PF2 Adventure Path.
It would likely be at S&B, probably on Tuesday evenings although I'd be open to at least considering something like Saturday afternoon or Friday evening
My plan is
1) To definitely run it in "campaign mode" (ie, I can change whatever I want although obviously I'll try for consensus when changing rules). I expect it to get PFS sanctioning at some point and that sanctioning to allow campaign mode so you will LIKELY get PFS credit if you care. Also may not as PFS may end up putting limits on sanctioning that I'm not willing to abide by.
2) Run the entire thing unless I find that I hate PF2 or the Adventure somewhere along the way (the Adventure isn't even completed yet so I don't know how good it will be). The first and second books are out and getting generally favourable reviews and I think I can likely fix the parts others don't like.
3) I'll be bringing along a GMPC. I know that some people hate this but I want to get experience in the game from both sides of the table and right now this seems my best option. Obviously, the GMPC will fill whatever role the party needs (EXCEPT face or scout) and will be generally quite quiet in the planning portions of the adventure and won't do much roleplaying with NPCs (he might be chatty with PCs, mind :-) :-)).
4) We'd start with pretty much rules as written. I'd strongly encourage but not force you to take the Adventure Path specific backgrounds. If you want one of those for flavour but a standard one for mechanics I'm sure that we can work something out. Options from The World of Lost Omens Players Guide WILL be legal although I may give at least a nod to common/uncommon. Note, haven't yet got this so I'm not really sure what is in there
5) Obviously, being an expert on PF2 is NOT a requirement. We'll all be learning the rules together. I have played/run a moderate amount since it came out so I have a good enough grasp on the rules to get started with
6) Character changes as we realize that a character isn't working will be very generously allowed probably for the entire Adventure.
I'd expect this to be a most;y weekly game with 4 or 5 players not including myself. Or perhaps a game every two weeks if people strongly prefer that (also gives us space to run PFS2 alongside this). So, please only express interest if you're willing to agree to that kind of schedule. Obviously, life happens and the game will not be run from time to time due to people being unable to attend but you have to be on board with the basic goal of playing pretty regularly. Also, obviously, there is no long term commitment if you find you don't like PF2, your life changes, you hate my GMing style, whatever.
