Hi all,
We've started having some issues again with people arriving late.
I want to make this clear again, since we no longer have access to the old website. I also want to clarify some finer points about multi-week play.
Signing up only secures you a place until we finish mustering tables. While, ideally, this would be done before the scheduled start time, we usually allow up to 10 minutes for people to arrive.
Once it gets to ten past start time, your sign-up spot can be given to someone else who wants to play. If you arrive after this, GMs will accommodate you if they can. 7 player tables will only be allowed under exceptional circumstances. Once the first encounter has begun of a scenario (after the briefing) no new players will be allowed to join games. Nor will existing tables be broken up to create more.
If you think you will be more than 10 minutes late, let us know. We can try to delay, but scenarios are getting longer and longer and we can't be keeping people late or annoying store owners. Ultimately, if you are not going to be able to participate in the whole scenario, you really can't join.
This gets a bit trickier when it comes to multi-week content.
For the first week, things act as normally. If you are ten minutes late, your seat is not guaranteed. GMs have the flexibility to allow people to join in after the first encounter but are not obligated to.
For subsequent weeks, you are guaranteed a spot. If you cannot make it, inform the GM (or the store coordinator, or post on this board) in advance. The GM has the option to a) continue without your character, b) delay until everyone already participating can play or c) allow a "pinch hitter" player to take your spot for that session. Should the session stretch more than two weeks, you may reclaim your spot from a pinch-hitter. People who pinch hit run the risk of participating in only a small portion of the adventure, but have the option of not taking credit and replaying later. As with all replays one would need to inform the GM in advance of replaying. Those who participate in less than 100% of the adventure will have their reward reduced commensurately.
If you miss a week of a multi-week scenario without informing the GM. your space may be given away for the remainder of the scenario. If space remains for you to rejoin in a subsequent week, you may at the GM's discretion.
This applies to games in the downtown core. Milton, Ottawa and other areas, may have their own rules.
