Okay, I wasn't going to go here, but the Tories tried to smear Layton,
then Harper had a disgustingly phony photo op with Laureen watching
the royal wedding, and my blood boiled, so let us revisit some old
gossip.

It has long been common knowledge on the Hill and in the civil service
in Ottawa that the Harpers have separated and Laureen is living with a
female RCMP officer. Some sources say the relationship developed when
the lover was her driver, but that part was not reliably confirmed.
Laureen agreed to continue to play his wife to help his career. There
is no word on what her intentions are after the election.
This is not an unfounded smear. It has been known for some time, was
confirmed by insider sources and even reported in the Globe and Mail,
then mysteriously removed.

Read about it here;

Toronto Life also spilled the story in a blind item here;

Thank you for the links. If the right wishes to play dirty with the
Layton non-scandal from 96, they might want to be aware of throwing
stones from glass houses

My thoughts exactly. Bring it on, Tories.

Smearing the wife of a politician is something the scummy left would
do. No one who is right of centre will believe it. Layton went to a
whore house and was found naked by the police there. He is not fit to
be PM.

If this is true it is irrelevant to the job that Harper does as PM.
Unlike Layton engaging in illegal activities at a common bawdy house
making him unfit to be PM.

You are so secure in the truth of this "rumour" that you will repost
it using your real name?

Yeah, that's the ticket. Like it mattered to staunch religious
rightists in the USA when Dick Cheney's daughter Mary gave him a test
tube grandson and lives with her female partner, a Park Ranger.

This is Canada, same sex relationships are legal, same sex marriage is
recognized and homosexuals are people under the Charter.

Nobody cares, especially about wild lies about the PM's wife and
ludicrous innuendo about Layton where he did nothing wrong.

So you're okay if he lies to the Canadian people and fakes a
relationship with an adulterer? I figured you would be, as a prolific
liar and pathetic fraud yourself.

Prove Layton engaged in anything illegal. I'll wait patiently while
you struggle to come up with another lie to cover your previous lies.

Unlike you with your lies about Layton, I'm not saying the above is
true. You'll note I did not allege it was fact, I explicitly said it
was gossip. I don't believe Greg Carr is your real name, either, so
stop blowing.

I love how you fell right into the trap to prove what a hypocrite you
are, like I knew you would.

Hahaha! Read the link about the Globe story. The story was leaked by a
~Tory~. See, even other Tories know what a fraud Harper is and you are
proven wrong once more.
This rumor has been flying all over Ottawa, even the clerks in the
public service have heard it, presumably because the ministers tell
the deputy ministers, who tell the high level managers, who tell their
underlings, and so on.
Get over it, Greggo. Your Lord and Master has feet of clay.

The problem isn't that she's reported to be gay, but that Harper, a
self-proclaimed Christian, is lying and faking a relationship to an
adulterer. Surely these Tories who are screeching about Layton's
supposed sexual immorality should have a big problem with that, yes?
That they don't exposes what despicable hypocrites they are.

Apparently, people do care, sad to say. Like I said, I wouldn't have
even posted it were it not for their disgusting lies about Layton.

Ottawa insiders are well aware that this has been going on but won't print, not necessarily out of deference but rather out of outright intimidation and fear.
The Cons' cronies in the fascist right would soon take out anyone in the main stream media who would dig into this story.

Besides, there's more than a few stories around Ottawa about Novak and Harper. Stevie does like to wear eyeliner, doesn't he...maybe he borrows it from Baird.

Much like the free pass that Gordon Campbell's got from the BC media...his marriage was a sham - his wife was around only for political purposes. He was banging Laura Dauphinee for years.

Right wingers...liars and hypocrites.

It is not common knowledge as you purport. I am a retired civil servant and I never heard a thing about this. And, even if it is true (which it is not), why is it anybody's business?

Latest reports are that the Conservatives are going to trot out the Stepford wife version of Laureen for the 2015 election. With her kids approaching adulthood she might start refusing to play the game or insist on playing it by her rules.

More power to her then. If living with Harper is as painful as watching what he is doing to Canada then I can't say I blame her.
