David Miller feels it's time for the unions to tighten their belts and
cave into every manner of demand that undermines 50 years of union
progress. At a time when our economy has tanked management everywhere
points the shaky finger of shame at the workers. This is seen as a
golden opportunity to cut back budgets for everything from swimming
pools to building permits.

As temperatures soar to 40C (July prediction) you'd have to wonder why
municipal politicians who regularly vote themselves a raise would
force a predictably lengthy strike by using the tanked economy as a
reason to win votes in the next municipal elections by harvesting
public favor for "trashing" working class wages and benefits.

So where will your garbage go on July 1st when Canada celebrates
another year of mundane foreign poilicy with a really swell display of
fireworks at Ontario Place?
