New issue 3 by snez...@gmail.com: Body parts and organs

Hi Rani/Prabhu/Sivaram,

Will it be possible for you to make some kind of list or all organs and
body parts that you anticipate, that are/will be relevant for our ontology
in general, not just for the PKU part thereof?
For instance, we need head, liver, kidney.

Thank you!

snez

Hi Snezana,

Inherently these disease, like Diabetes Mellitus, involve most organ systems
(including body parts) of the body. What actually is the context? An example
would help. I think we should keep importing what ever terms we need
from FMA if available.

Hi Prabhu!

My apologies if my question did not came across as intended.
My question was exactly about those the body parts and organs that we would need for the purposes of our ontology, and only about those target items, but not body parts and organs related to diseases/disorders in general.

What I was asking is if you and Rani (and Sivaram) can come up with some list of body parts and organs that we need for our ontology, and that are not just related to PKU but all the disorders/diseases that Rani has in plan for this ontology.
All that in order to determine which terms (body parts and organs) we need to import from FMA/CARO/UBERON?

Thank you!

snez
