Ontario Rare Bird Alert

This group rapidly disseminates information about provincially-rare birds reported to eBird in Ontario.

There are a few rules and the group will be strictly moderated.

eBird Canada Alerts: Please note that eBird sightings of provincially-rare (roughly defined here as species reported fewer than 10 times per year) are harvested in hourly and daily summaries and posted here (some "borderline" species only go out in the daily summaries; hourly summaries are deleted from the archive regularly). If you've found a rare bird, please post to eBird right away and/or the Ontario Birds Discord Server (https://discord.gg/EXJ5S9e) and/or Ontbirds (https://ontbirds.ca/list/birdalert.ontbirds.ca).

You can choose to ignore the hourly eBird emails, daily eBird emails, both, or neither. If you don't wish to see one or both of them, be sure to add the email address(es) to your email's spam/block filter (you may need to filter for messages with these addresses in the "to" field):
