I am so mad at the fact that now there exists a "manjhi path" board and that's it. That's all what was done for him, that too when he was dead. This film, this story is a heartbreaking example of both how unfair the world is specially for those who already have nothing and that there is hope.
To be honest, this is not a very good movie. But Nawazuddin Siddiqui's performance is terriffic (again, like so often before) and somehow he saves the film from tumbling down that mountain. It's a huge one, not only a disastrous lovestory against all odds, but as well a moral tale in corrupt times, where bribing is a form of ruthless capitalism that exploits those that already have nothing.
Manjhi is essentially a love story. Firstly, between Dashrath Manjhi and his unmisted love for the girl who sells toys for a living. And secondly for the mountain that he carved for 22 long years. The mountain that stood by his side like a friend who never spoke, like a lover who never questioned his ways and like a savior who always found ways to protect him. This little story from a very remote place in Bihar is an inspiring one. It shows the transformation of a madcap rat-eater to a saint. It also shows how hard-work and will-power can move mountains both in the literal and actual sense.
I don't know why more people didn't like this movie. It was an incredibly inspiring true story of a man who for years broke down a path through the mountain to ensure that people could get sufficient health care in good time after his wife died after not being treated in time. Manjhi did not let anything stop him from his goal to conquer the mountain.
screenplay is really bad i think the movie could be better if the movie have better visual effects..the story is based on a real story of Dasarath Manjhi... the story is so inspirable....i just think maybe Nawazuddin Siddiqui's best performance is only thing worth to watch......
The movie is a bit dramatic and the graphics used are poor. That apart, there are lots of elements to appreciate. A terrific story. Wish Tingmanshu Dhulia was given to direct the film. He directed Paan Singh Tomar so well. He even stars in this one as the village headman.
Inspirational true story about a man in grief after losing his wife making the road shorter to the city from his little village by single handedly chopping a road through it for 22 years! Perfect material for a motion picture and even if they take liberties with the story and a lot of the shifting political climate feels forced in the core of things, the movie about 'the man vs the mountain' gives a very positive vibe!
