Hi,

Is there a way I can re-submit a page to Google to get it crawled
again to remove a person's name? One of our donors doesn't wish to be
found online (not to mention that she's on 100 other people's pages).
But I guess ours comes up pretty high. I'd like to reassure her that
I've done everything I can now that I've taken down her name and re-
uploaded the page to the site.

Any idea how long it would take to get crawled by re-submitting it?

Thanks.

Hi Sheryl,

While there's no particular  way to submit a single page, afetr all, the trouble is that the page is already in Google (but with oldish content), there are a few ways to achieve this.

1) Getting the cache of that page removed in Google.
When you change the page, you can add a robots meta tag specifying "NOARCHIVE" to it.
Then you can request cache removal for that, from your Webmaster Tools account.

2) Getting the page recrawled and thus recached, faster. This will depend on how often this page gets recrawled in general. You can always post some links to it on pages that are likely to get crawled more often.
3) Prepare a fresh sitemap and resubmit it. Make sure that url is in the sitemap.

Hi,

I just wanted to report that the page in question that was not indexed
on Google has been indexed. The cache date is March 6, 2008. The only
change I made was following webado's advice to "unbreak" the code in
the head, which was that I had meta tags closing with space /> instead
of without the space the the /. It took about a month, but when Google
came back, it did index that page:

http://www.tapirback.com/images/animals/mammals/aquatic/pinnipeds/sea-lions-01.htm

Thanks!!!

Sheryl
