Hi,

I've noticed that the Google analytic code returns Java errors. Is it
me or could this be a problem? I have very little experience in
trouble shooting this type of error.

Warning: function _uCInfo does not always return a value
Source File: http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js
Line: 199, Column: 99
Source Code:
if (z!="-" && z.indexOf(";")==-1) { _ubd.cookie="__utmz="+z+";
path="+_utcp+";"+x+_udo; return ""; }

Firefox webmaster tool bar returns about 25 or 30 similar errors all
related to Analytics. Do you think this is a problem, and if so, is
it fixable?

Also, I get an overflowing error on about every page I visit. Is this
an area of concern?

I hope this is not off-topic because it is not a W3C validation issue,
but it is an error just different type.

Later,

Daniel

I've never seen that error. But then I don't use FF as a matter of
course, just when I need to debug somethting LOL

And I couldn't interpret that code if my life depended on it ....
I guess it's kind of valid to say that function at that point does not
ALWAYS return a value... because it is in an IF clause. So presumably
the ELSE does nothing there, including NOT returning a value either.
But there are all sorts of other ifs and nooks and crannies. Doubtful
that FF webmaster toolbar has pinpointed precisely what does what.

I think the FF webmaster toolbar is looking where and when it
shouldn't be looking.

Did you add the Analytics script to the body of the page or to the
head? They should be in the body, though they aso work in the head...
kind of.

What overflowing error is that?

I put the code just before the </body> tag. The error occurs on all
web sites that use analytics--yours too. I think that you are correct
and it is the tool bar not understanding what is going on. I use if
statements with no else value, in C++ and depending on how the program
is structured it works fine; however, occasionally visual doesn't like
it. It could also be part of a void function and is not supposed to
return a value, but there is not enough info in the error message to
tell.

I really don't know what is overflowing because that is the extent of
the warning. I have heard reference that overflow is a way to hack a
computer. More than anything I was curious, and thought maybe you
had encountered these issues before.

Thanks,

Daniel

PS-I guess it's turned winter Canada. If you ever get tired of the
cold, there is always room for more in God's Country ;-). 78 degrees,
sunshine, and blue clear skies.

I just went to my site in FF and am not seeing any such error. I see
however warnings about some css stuff which isn't even part of my css
at all. So....
So I think the developer toolbar is slightly indisposed LOL

And mention of overflow anywhere.

It's possible the interaction with yet other add-ons and toolbars is
causing problems.

Kind of chilly in Montreal this weekend, but not winter YET.
About 37F or so and no wind, no rain and it's sunny enough just before
sundown, so it's not bad.

I hate to tell you but 37F is winter here, but this is God's
