Senior SaaS Software Engineer - Servicenow, algorithms/data structures

Location: Sacramento, CA — must work onsite
Contract Type: Long-term contract

What This Job Is About

We need an experienced engineer who knows how to build, support, and manage SaaS (cloud-based software) applications — and who has strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow, a platform many companies use to manage IT services.

What You'll Do

• Help set up, improve, and test SaaS applications.
• Fix technical problems when SaaS apps break or have issues.
• Set up new SaaS tools for the company — including configuring settings, building dashboards, and working with outside vendors.
• Handle the full process of building software: planning, designing, coding, testing, and launching.
• Write code and solve problems using solid programming fundamentals.
• Connect SaaS applications with ServiceNow, especially for handling incidents, changes, service requests, and service tracking.
• Manage and maintain ServiceNow's IT service, asset, and operations tools.
• Build reports in ServiceNow to track performance and share updates with the company.
• Troubleshoot slow or poorly performing applications.
• Track system health using metrics and logs.
• Work closely with different teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

What You Need

• 7+ years working with SaaS applications (building, supporting, and setting them up).
• 7+ years managing the full software development process.
• 5+ years writing code and solving problems (algorithms/data structures).
• Strong experience connecting SaaS tools with ServiceNow.
• Experience managing ServiceNow's IT service, asset, and operations modules.
• Experience building reports in ServiceNow.
• Experience fixing performance issues in software.
• Comfortable working in an agile team setting.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Familiarity with AI tools like Copilot or Claude.
