Job Title/Role: DW BI Lead

Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: Long Term Contract

Mandatory Skills:

• Concepts: Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, OLAP(Online Analytical Processing), Analytics..
• MSBI (on-premises) : SQL Server, SSIS,SSAS,SSRS, Power BI
• Azure: Azure SQL Database, Azure Analysis Services, Power BI, Stream Analytics and etc.,
• Scripting Knowledge: Shell or Python

 

Responsibility:

• Responsible for data integration, data quality, development and testing/deployment strategy in Microsoft BI.
• Identifies, recommends and implements technical improvements in production application solutions or operational processes in support of BI platform and information delivery assets (ie, data quality, performance etc.)
• Provides technical support for BI applications; assists with documentation and training. Collaborate with other BI engineers, analysts and engineering resources as appropriate.
• Focuses on the overall stability and availability of the BI platform
• Researches, manages and coordinates resolution of complex issues through root cause analysis as appropriate
• Establishes and maintains relationships with technical leads of key operational sources systems providing data to BI platform.
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings.
• Ensure adherence to established problem / incident management, change management and other internal IT processes
• Responsible for communication related to any day to day issues and problem resolutions. Communication may include direct department management as well downstream/upstream application contacts and business partners.
• Ensures comprehensive knowledge transition from development teams on new or modified applications moving to ongoing production support.
• Seeks improvement opportunities in design, solution implementation approaches in partnership with development team for ensuring the performance and health of the BI platform.
• Ensures timely and accurate escalation of issues to management

 

Capabilities & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology
• 4-6 years developing and supporting Microsoft BI stack – SQL Server Analysis Services, Integration Services and Stored Procedures (T-SQL)
• Proficient in data modeling - ERD, Star Schema and Snowflake schemas
• Strong knowledge of database concepts and modern data integration patterns
• Strong problem solving & analytical skills
• Possess a strong technology, data, and production support background.
• Proven experience working with onshore/off shore support team.
• Natural technical and functional curiosity
• Familiar with Agile Methodology. Ability to communicate effectively and work in lean teams.
