Dear all,

we have improved our OPO website by adding a page dedicated to publications [1]. There we have gathered all the publications related to the Online Presence Project, as well as the presentations and posters that might be useful for understanding what Online Presence is, and getting to know the relevant modeling issues and challenges. Although the page presents only the publications related to our project, a more detailed overview of the field and the work of other people can be found in some of the academic papers that are listed.

Filip Radulovic has also created a beta version of an application that uses OPO ontology [2]. It is a plugin for IM tool - Spark, that allows the export of data relevant to presence in RDF using OPO. The applications also takes into account the existing data about users (that can be found in Linked Data cloud) and reuses existing URIs.

More applications will follow soon. Thank you for following our work.

While talking about website improvements, is there any plan to get it
hosted on a dedicated domain name ?
That would probably be better from a branding perspective, and also
when discussing / outreaching it to other peers / workgroups.

Best,

Alex.

Good point Alex,

I actually considered it myself; but all the domains onlinepresence .net .com .org .info ... were taken :( so I gave up. But this is indeed an important thing. I will now register online-presence.net (it is the only one left).

Do you think this new URI should be used in the ontology URI as well or is it better to go with purl.org?

Best,

Cool - do you know when you'll move the website here ?

Do you think this new URI should be used in the ontology URI as well or is it better to go with purl.org?

If you ensure your domain is here to stay that might be more easy to remember (having website and ontology in the same domain)

But I don't have a strong opinion on it

Alex.
