The internet has made it easier than ever for entrepreneurs to startup
their own business, promote their services or product to find new
customers, and make money online, but that's often easier said than
done - especially when it comes to the promoting part.

So how do you find new customers?

1. Original content - the more you post, the more traffic you'll
receive.

2. Social Networking - the more active you are, the more attention
you'll receive. This is also a great way to share your content.
Remember to provide a link back to your website - the goal is to make
money.

3. Social Bookmarking - you can target those who use the bookmarking
sites, such as Digg and Reddit, by submitting the links to your
content. If the community likes it, it will gain more exposure over
time.

4. Groups - create a community around an interest involved with your
business. Members might follow your links back to your site and become
customers if you play your cards right.

5. Blogs - create multiple blogs focusing on multiple subjects within
your field. The more content the better! Drive that traffic to your
website.

6. Forums - be active on popular forums in your trade. The more
helpful you are, the more likely users will get to know you as a
source for help. Remember to let them know about your website in a
none spammy way.

7. Video - this is perhaps the hottest form of communication online.
It's fast, easy, and requires no effort from the viewer. Take your
original content to the next level by creating videos. These tap into
the video hosting networks, such as YouTube, Vimeo, and Viddler, and
you can provide a link to your website in the description of your
video.

8. Free eBook - these can drastically increase your brand's exposure.
Providing a free report or downloadable PDF can encourage people to
take action, learn about you, and eventually trust you if the content
you create is solid.

9. Allow people to subscribe - if a user wants to stay in touch and
hear what you're working on via email, by all means let them! Email
lists are a great way to keep track of potential customers.

10. Affiliates - partner with others who have built a large community
of potential leads and work with them to cross-market your overlapping
interests.

The key to finding more customers is knowing where your customers are
online. The majority will either be in the social networks, the search
engines, or in most cases both.
