Middlebury College is embarking on a new venture that seeks to capitalize on its reputation as a mecca for foreign-language instruction. The college announced Wednesday it is entering a partnership with K12 Inc., a technology-based education company in Virginia, to provide online language programs for secondary-school students. The first courses, beginning French and Spanish for high school students, will be available this summer.
