Question on displaying unread comment count

Hello,
I am currently finishing the comment part in ejabberd OSW
implementation.
I still miss the live displaying of unread comment when someone else
adds a comment.
I cannot currently compare with betavine, what the client expects.
Do you know if there is something to had to the packet / payload
expect broadcasting the message ?
