So I wanted to take some time a write a short description of the painting brushes I use & the painting medium I use as well.

Paintbrushes:

I originally started out using mainly Flats & Brights but I have found myself using round brushes now. I think that the rounds have a little more flexiblity of use than the flats. I also think the Flats and Brights don't hold as much paint as the rounds. You may be thinking, "But flats can hold an edge much better than rounds." Well I have found if you by good quality rounds they can hold an edge just as good as a flat can. I use two brands of brushes:

Rounds: I use Robert Simmons Titanium Series Long Handled Brushes that I purchases at DickBlick's Art Supply.

Flats and Brights: I use Windsor & Newton Monarch Mongoose Brushes that I purchase at Joann's fabrics.

For my painintg medium I use a very simple mixture:

1 Part Gamsol
1 Part Linseed Stand Oil
1 Part Venetian Turpintine

It is very thick and smells awesome incomparison to others. It slows drying time down a little and has a fully body, slow and very smooth feel to it. It can be a little messy if used in excess so beginners try some experimenting before using it with your gallery work.
