Thank you so much jane I'm such an idiot i don't know why I couldnt figure this out..too tired i suppose!Cheers
Here are my attempts at illustrating the structure of the presentation relating to what Gus put together and we discussed.
As I said last night in a sleepy ramble, I think maybe 'what is it' and 'how does it work'? need to be changed to something else? any suggestions welcome.
Really hope you guys like them.If any major changes need to be done please tell me tonight asap as i will be travelling to meet u tomorrow and wont have a laptop to work on.
Cheers
Nats x

Nat,
If you're working in P'shop - save as 'photoshop pdf' and choose 'smallest
file size' in the menu that comes up next - that should produce files that
you can email to all of us

Hi Nat,
The slides are brill!  Love the lightness and detail - good move. And George looks just like Ed - it's uncanny! One thing - I'm not quite sure if the font works in terms of being readable. See what the others think. Why don't you bring your original files on a stick and we can use my laptop if we do want to make any changes tomorrow.
Have a good night's rest and a good journey, see you about 11.

Good job on the slides. Good doodling Natalie. I reckon with the right explanation the slides should be great, unless you mean you think they should be more informative?
I don't think it's an issue, but we can discuss it tomorrow.

See you then

Yeah, maybe we can try with the original fonts Olly came up with... I thought the pixel-like ones could work and actually suggested Natalie to try them out but seems like it may need a change. What do you guys think?

Thanks for the feedback guys..It was a bit scary doing illustrations to please so many ppl instead of just myself or one client..i appreciate they might not please everyone but i tried to keep it to the original style..was hard not to put more texture/detail like i usually would!
I think i agree about the fonts..sorry that i didn't use olly's font, wasn't intentional i just forgot about it,and also as gus suggested the pixel font thought i'd try it.easily changed anyway.I will put all the files on a pen drive and cd just to be safe! So I wont work any more on them tonight until we can discuss tomorrow.
looking forward to seeing you all,I know it's going to be a challenge the next few days but we can pull it off :)
safe journeys tomorrow, see you at 11 in the usual RFA place!
Nat :) x

Hi!
just looking at the slides. I'm affraid the pink used for the face is too clear. We are working with videoprojection, don't know what will be the screen, either the projector, so we need definetly more contrast on the images.
Talk tomorrow,
Thomas.

nat, brilliant job, but somehow i think it need to inline with the animation story board a bit, in terms of colour or style, i guess.

i agree, overall it's too pasty. lack of contrast.

Or black background could be fine too. ^^

Ok I will change the skin tone to make it bolder. But I don't see the need to make the colours of the clothes etc the exact same as the storyboard..we don't want the whole presentation to look like we've churned out the same thing over and over..a little bit of variation but with a similar style is good no? I'll have a go at adding some darker colours behind the characters to frame them/make stand out,but I think black backgrounds will look too much personally.I might have a go at using different squares of colour behind to frame things..
I'll try to make these colour changes tonight,as I won't have a laptop tomorrow (unless as some of u kindly offered i can borrow someones to edit)
anyway, unfortunately I can't get there til 12 noon now,I'm really sorry,I live so far away and its impossible to get there any earlier by public transport.
I will be able to stay as late as we need to though.
see you tomorrow in the RFA
Nat.

Hi hi

Slides look good. I look forward hearing what each slide is about and what is sort of gonna be said... Yes i know that projection might change colours but we'll just have to check.
See you guys 2morrow at rfh, i'll be there around 10ish, and will sit either (if there is no graduation ceremony) in the big hall same as last time or on 3rd floor by a power socket...

See you

well, "consistency" is key, we have branded this project in a specific tone and manner, to follow the tone and manner is crucial.

Nat's slides demonstrate a change in visual style that will add pace and interest to our presentation. I don't think that this is supposed to be an exercise in branding - if it was, we would have approached it in a very different way. It's about our ideas - getting them straight and getting them across - and that's what we should concentrate on tomorrow. Our strength lies in our diversity of views and that is clearly shown in the montage of images (slide 12). We may not be a slick operation but we think and we care. Well done everyone.

many part of our presentation are not lack of variety already, but lack of consistency, this was brought up by Shane and other guys and i couldn't be more agree of.

Well I don't think we should make it so rigidly the same so that it looks like one person designed the whole project. Consistency is good, but variety is also important, thats why they chose 10 different people. That being said if a majority agree tomorrow we can change them,I'm not bothered about it being my illustrations I just want to get it done and not waste time tomorrow.
Anyway I'll wait until I have an idea of what the whole group wants to do.
See you tomorrow!

Great illustrations Nat!
Thank you so much for working on them!
I think since animation, tshirts and postcards all have exact consistency it would maybe be helpful in terms of presentation and communication, for the illustrations to use the same colour pallet and font hierarchy. Also I thought the original presentation was nice because it included raw photos of our work in process and the process of us 10 strangers working together to create a utopian vision was something as a pannel that they found potentially more interesting than our final product (anyones final product!)

Just some thoughts

see you all tomorrow

I agree with nat.

The last time they saw our presentation was with the old ideas and stuff and with the preformance etc.
This is a completely new presentation, with a new approach, concept, idea etc.

Despite that nat's slides might not be lulu's characters, they are based on that concept plus given some visual emotions to the face, which we need.

So if you are searching for coherancy, it is here, everybody did what they do best based on the concept storyboard of lulu. :)

Greets!!

Dominique
