I think bookmarks save time for reaching folders, and I think they should save space in the window too. Look at the 2 images.
Thanks

Collapsing columns is planned, but I didn't get to it yet

After changing the view and closing the 2nd panel it will look exactly as you want.

Jaroslaw, you didn't understand the goal.
I want the bookmark to become the first column from which to continue column navigation.
When I select a bookmark, I want to go there, and I don't care about the parent folders, which just waste space.

OneCommander Support, ok, I hope you'll work on it soon.
It can be done in several ways.
I would like the columns of the parent folders not to be seen at all, excluding them or setting their width to zero.
Thanks!

Once implemented they will appear collapsed (8px with the sidewise folder name like when columns are collapsed due to lack of space). There is no plan to remove them completely as that is the exact folder and I wouldn't want to go route of Explorer. You can use
subst U: C:\Users\YOURNAME
command to mount user folder to a drive letter if you want it as root.

Funny - I came up with this solution too (mounting the folder to a drive letter) to achieve the effect of selectively collapsing folders.

In searching for previous discussions on the topic, my thoughts were along the lines of specifying 'virtual root folders' within OC. It sounds like you're thinking along the same lines.
- When navigating up and down the tree (but all within the virtual root folder), that folder (and it's parents) would stay collapsed.
- When navigating up through the virtual root folder, the tree would expand as normal (unless there is another virtual root higher up the tree, in which case the tree would expand normally only up to that point).
- When navigating down (deeper) through the virtual root folder it works in reverse - normal folder behaviour, until the virtual root folder is opened, which then collapses all its parents
- The same thing would happen when following a bookmark to a folder that has been tagged as a virtual root folder as suggested by Adriano)

Good luck with all the projects and to do lists!
