Hello,

I was wondering if there was any way to integrate the Bitdefender contextual scan into the right click context menu. As it stands now the only way for me to run a contextual scan is either by going into Bitdefender and manually selecting the location/files (a huge pain) or right clicking OneCommander -> open old explorer -> right click the files in question and run context scan in old explorer.

I am not sure how feasible it is because I am guessing it is probably more of an issue with Bitdefender than it is with OneCommander. I just thought I would ask in case it is possible.

Thank you!

Tarron

Hi Tarron,

If that option is not showing then it is either not a regular text menu item or Bitdefender is adding it into the context menu in some weird way.
You could try closing OC, editing onecommanderv3.json from \settings folder and changing line
"ShellContextMenuSyncCascadeMenu": "False"
into
"ShellContextMenuSyncCascadeMenu": "True"
I am not sure how that affects individual items and if it would make a difference. It may take longer to open menu, so if it doesn't work, better revert it to False

I can report the same effect: The dark screen shot is from Windows Explorer, the light one is the one from OC. As you can see, the Bitdefender menu item doesn't appear in OC context menu. I don't know, if it will help, but I used ShellExView from NirSoft to show the properties of the the context menu entry of Bitdefender.

Regards,
Matthias

It looks like the fault is on BitDefender - according to this post it won't show the menu item unless the calling program is called "explorer.exe"

This also happens with Norton Security's file insight feature. It's not an OC issue, I had the same lack of right-click context menu when using other Explorer replacement apps.

Maybe there is a security related reason that only explorer.exe has the access to it. I'll add scriptable menu items soon so a command-line command can be associated with a menu item, so if running c:\...\myantivirus.exe -scan filename or something, that could work then. It's just an idea, but I have not researched that yet.

I just wanted to update this thread and let people know that Bitdefender options are now showing up in the one-commander right click menu. Hurray!

Thanks for reporting this. They must have made some changes, because I didn't.

Not showing to me just yet. Did you make any changes or updated something recently?
