Option for Grouping items by 'Type', 'Name', 'Size' or 'Date Modified'

Grouping items by 'type' is my main criteria. It would be great if we could group items, like .exe, .pdf, music & video files etc., especially in Downloads folder, where all items would be stacked randomly, and would be hard to sort out.

Sorting option provided in OC is good, though it doesn't provide a group title for the type of file.

That is a technical limitation instead of my choice. Without going into too much details, grouping used to turn off virtualization that makes listing large folders take several seconds (it has to render all files in folder, not just the number that fit on screen) and keep all file details from a folder in in memory (instead of just the ones shown on screen). I'll have to see if that was fixed in framework as otherwise it is not possible.
