Cant open photos

I cannot open PNG or JPG photos through OC even though I have an app that can open and view them and have set the default photo app to that app I am talking about. For some reason when I try to open photos through OC, it is not detecting the photos as jpg or png but as "ms-photos". 

Here is the error I get when trying to open photos...

"Get an app to open this ms-photos link"

"Your PC doesn't have an app that can open this link. Try looking for a compatible app in the Microsoft Store"

Did you uninstall Microsoft Photos app? For some reason your Windows thinks that Microsoft Photos is still the default app to open photos, so OC tries that.
