Hey Milos,
can we get a  switch in the settings to turn "Toggle columns resizing/not resizing in Columns Layout" on or off at start up when using columns mode and starting a new tab?

Dont get me wrong. I like the normal columns view too and when i have a lot of folders to dig in, it is nice that they collapse on the left but I prefer the classic Finder-style and I wish I could set this as first view when opening a new tab.

Right now we have to open a new tab and have to press F8 everytime first.
Maybe you could add an option to start a new tab with not resizing columns toogled on?

It's not official feature yet. The problem is still that in that mode the columns float left and then there can be a huge gap between current folder pane and preview all the way on the right, and I don't have a solution for that

With the current setup, everything is floating to the right and there is a huge gap to the column, which feels somewhat unnatural. In most Western countries, we read from left to right, so having everything on the right in a new tab while our brain expects the file list on the left is confusing—far more confusing than a gap to the content preview, as you mentioned.

And even if you do not have a solution for the gap yet, it would still be nice to let the user decide and add a checkbox in the settings where we could choose whether resizing when opening a new tab should be enabled or disabled, right?

The reason if floats right is that current folder always stays at the same place while navigating

yeah and that's pretty cool - i am a user since version 2 so i am not new to this and having the navigation everytime on the same spot is really helpful.
I like the system and don't want you to change it in any way.
That's why I ask for a on/off toggle in the settings to let the user decide which option should be started when creating a new tab.
