New window Popup

Hi,

I’ve been using One Commander for quite a while now. It’s a great tool and a solid replacement for the classic Explorer. However, there’s one thing that’s really frustrating—the pop-up window triggered by the Win + E hotkey. It’s quite annoying and slows down my workflow. On top of that, the pop-up doesn’t even open instantly, and you can’t interact with other windows until you close it.

Honestly, I don’t think many people actually need this "feature". Would it be possible to include an option in a future update to disable this “it’s not a feature, it’s a bug” popup?

I wish that was true, but every once in a while I get this window:

I thought it was my mistake, but others seem to have the same issue.

The windows is surprising and as far as I can tell, not really useful.

Oops, sorry, of couse I dont' want Windows Explorer to open; I want OC to open, that's why I configured it to launch on Win+E, but not with the small window.

Is the small window a feature or a bug? I see it from time to. OK, when OC is already in the foreground and one presses Windows+E again the "New Window" dialogue appears, fair enough. I can't tell for sure now whether there are other circumstances where this window shows up unexpectedly.

Can it be disabled? How is that related to beta? What's the plan for Google Groups and Discord? Do we need two accounts to keep up-to-date?

V3 didn't have a way to name window after it was created so that new window popup had to be there. V4 beta creates window without name popup because window can be named from main hamburger menu. Beta will be published on discord only until it is public

I think this misses the point. It's OK to show the "new window" popup when OC is in the foreground. However, it's a bug to show this windows when OC is not in the foreground and Windows+E is used to bring it to the foreground. Today I was watching this closely and I had a situation when OC was minimised, however, Windows+E didn't bring it to the foreground, instead it showed the "new window" popup.

The original idea was that if OC window is in foreground, user likely wants a new window, and if some other window has a focus, bring the most recent window up first (even when minimized). Do you see a different behavior and how easily can you reproduce the issue? Which version?

As I wrote, Windows+E, mostly brings the OC windows to the foreground or restores it if minimised. However, in rare cases it shows the "new window" popup. It's not reproducible at will, I tried 10 times and 10 times the minimised window was restored. Version 3.108.0.
