Dear Milos, I am a frequent user of One Commander, currently managing a large volume of scientific experimental images, MRI scans, and PDF documents.

I rely heavily on the ThumbnailGrid view for content previews, but I've hit an efficiency bottleneck: since both PDFs and images appear as full-square previews, I cannot distinguish them quickly. While the Thumbnails + Details view shows icons, it displays too few items per screen for efficient browsing of large datasets.

My Suggestion: Could you add a semi-transparent file type overlay icon (e.g., small PDF, JPG, or PNG logos) in the top-right corner of the thumbnails in ThumbnailGrid mode? This would maintain the advantage of large previews while allowing for instant format recognition. I attempted to implement this by modifying the Nord.xaml theme file, but realized the current XAML resource dictionary does not support overlaying such UI components.

Looking forward to your thoughts. Thank you for building such an incredible tool!

The problem with icons top-left, which I don't know how to solve, is that the container for items are square-ish and names are aligned, and images are right above the names, so icons end up floating in the void which looks weird.

In the past I also tried moving icons to top, but then the names end up floating. Then I tried moving icons to center, and in folders with variable aspect ratio images/icons, evetyhing looks messy. Names definitely need to stay aligned
The only "fix" would be drawing the grid, but doesn't look very good
