Hello One Commander team,

I’d like to request a new setting related to note files in the current folder, specifically files with the .2dx and .2do formats.

Feature request

Please add an option that allows users to:

  1. Exclude .2dx and .2do note files when copying folders, so they are automatically skipped during folder copy operations.

  2. Alternatively, allow these note files to be automatically converted to .txt and collected into a single location when copied.

Why this is useful

When a folder containing these note files is copied to another person, the recipient may not use One Commander and therefore cannot read or understand those files. This can cause confusion because the notes appear as unknown or unreadable files.

A setting like this would help:

  • prevent unnecessary confusion for other users,

  • keep copied folders cleaner and more portable,

  • preserve note content in a more universal format if conversion is enabled.

Suggested behavior

A possible implementation could be:

  • Option A: “Skip One Commander note files (.2dx, .2do) when copying folders.”

  • Option B: “Convert One Commander note files to .txt and save them in a single notes folder during copy.”

  • Option C: Let users choose between:

    • skip,

    • keep as-is,

    • convert to .txt.

Expected benefit

This would make folder sharing much safer and more practical, especially when sharing with people who do not use One Commander.

Thank you for considering this feature.

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for the detailed suggestion and for explaining the use case.

At this time, there are no plans to add a setting to automatically skip, convert, or relocate `.2dx` and `.2do` note files during folder copy operations.

The main reason is that OneCommander is designed to perform file operations transparently and predictably, without additional user-required decisions like prompts what to do with those files.

2do and 2dx are just plain text files so anyone would be able to see contents in notepad and the names already hint what the content is

For sharing folders with people who do not use One Commander, the best approach is currently to review the folder before sending it and manually remove or export any notes that are not needed by the recipient.
