I have a laptop computer, that I normally use closed, with 2 external monitors. Then sometimes I disconnect the monitors to go to a meeting. I use OC then, and set the size to be [some size] on the single laptop screen (always somewhat smaller than the screen with some margin, I don't use it "full screen"). I leave OC running, close the lid, go back to my desk, and reconnect the external monitors (not opening the laptop screen). Then the OC window is stretched across both monitors in a huge size. I must always resize it to fit my liking - to be only on 1 monitor.
Is there a way to make it, when changing monitors, to constrain itself or resize to only 1 monitor, instead of spanning across multiple monitors?
Thank you.

Window positioning is controlled by Windows, and these custom windows aren't treated by Windows the same way as classic ones (I've even had Chrome stuck on non-existent screen). I've tried different workarounds in the past, but monitor layout changes aren't registered properly if computer is not awake during changes. You can press Shift+F1 to move OC window to the bounds of the primary screen, or right click on it on taskbar and "Center on current screen".

#1 Win key + Shift + arrow keys can easily move a window to a single monitor quickly

#2 The issue sounds like your laptop when using the dual monitors are set up to "span" rather than "extend". Or it's possible (since you usually use the monitors and close the laptop lid) that because you are using duplicate it auto spans things. Can't remember offhand and in a bit of a hurry atm but you should be able to set it up to duplicate the laptop screen to the monitor then extend to the second monitor rather than span and that should put any open apps on 1 screen instead of 2. Offhand working from memory, if you connect the laptop to the dual monitors, then select 1 monitor to be primary (it won't stop you from using the laptop screen when there's no monitors) and then set windows to extend the desktop to the second screen.

But in a pinch it's pretty quick and simple to just use #1 above to move it, even if you have to move it to the second monitor and back again it only takes a couple seconds to do.
