Perhaps I'm just misunderstanding how themes work in Win10, but when using the Nord theme (and others) I saw that if have 'Acrylic window effect' turned on the application background area, e.g. below the 'New Group' button on the left, becomes dark grey/blue. However if I turn Use Acrylic off the background becomes solid black (as per my windows dark theme).

If acrylic is really just a slight transparency, why wouldn't the background be grey/blue regardless?

Thanks

One Commander themes are completely independent of Windows themes and colors, so that user can have a complete control over look of One Commander. If you open Nord.xaml from Themes folder you will see on line 60 for Tint color:
 <Color
        x:Key="WindowAcrylicTintColor"
        A="255"
        R="48"
        G="52"
        B="63"/>
so it is bluish tint.
You can create a folder like Nord2 next to Nord, copy the nord.xaml to the new folder, and edit it to any RGB color you like. Save, select that theme in OC, and press ctrl+shift+F5 (or restart program)

On my monitor in AdobeRGB color space I can't see blue tint, even when content behind window is white, but it should be slightly according to those values.

Thanks Milos, I'll take a look at the the xaml files.

As you can see in the area highlighted in green below, with Acrylic On  - sort of grey/blue:

vs Acrylic Off:

I guess I was thinking that the black area would have remained roughly as per the first image, just without the transparency.

I'll have to check - the Nord theme is known color scheme so the idea was to take their colors, and I thought I used those, I just didn't make the inactive window (without acrylic effect) be the proper color and I think that one was supposed to be bluish also. I'll check tomorrow

If I copy Nord into a new folder called Test, the background area highlighted with green in my previous comment goes solid white.
If I rename it to DarkTest then that area turns black. So I'm guessing changing the color for this area is not yet in the xaml file?

The WindowAcrylicTintColor is for that. RGB should be zero, or if you want it without transparency then A has to be also 0. In the line 55 of the theme file I have left a note that theme must have "Dark" in name for the dark base of the theme to be loaded, otherwise it loads light base. I've made exception to load it also if theme contains "nord" or "norto". I'll see in the future if I can do it in a different way that woulnd't need those keywords in the name (it also can't be in theme text, or it would make program starting slower while searching for theme text)

You are right, when Acrylic Effect is off it is not getting any color. In the next update I will rename WindowAcrylicFallbackColor into WindowFallbackColor and that one will be for both when acrylic window is inactive, and for when the Acrylic effect is off.

The last time I checked, Windows 11 had issue with Acrylic effect on some PCs and it would bring the entire program to 1fps refresh. I don't know if they fixed it, but for now it is only available in W10, and Mica in W11. Some day I will make a new type of window that will support both, but this might be probably fools errand as it will take forever to make and won't bring new pro license purchases so it is low priority on my list.

First of all, if there was an acrylic version for Win 11 I would immediately buy a PRO version.
There are many users who perhaps come from the Mac world for reasons of hardware performance but do not give up on aesthetics and functionality.

Having said this, how can I understand what the elements to be edited in the theme file are called in the frontend?
Where can I find a ford that shows me what the elements are? or how do I figure it out from the program? otherwise I have to try

Thanks Angel.
