When I dbl-click on a ZIP file, I used to get options that included "extract here" and "open external" (or something like that). Now it seems "extract here" is no longer available. It doesn't even ask for options now, simply opens in Windows Explorer.

I used "extract here" all the time, it was a handy choice. Did something change? I looked thru settings, but didn't see anything.

Thanks.

It's in the changes log:
!! Archive extraction has been removed. 7zip library has several vulnerabilities so we'll wait for an update from the library developer. Please use an external archiver for now (be aware that if that external archiver is based on 7zip it might have the same vulnerabilities). Note that Bandizip used to cause OC crashing; not tested recently but you may want to consider a different one. Built-in compressing to archive is still supported.

Thanks, didn't see that.

Any recommendations for an external archiver for ZIP files?

ZIP support is built into Windows.  Right click the ZIP file, then open with Windows Explorer will work.  There are many external tools with built-in ZIP support.  WinRAR will work if you have that installed.

Thanks Jamil. That's what I'm currently doing. But I'm hoping there is an option that restores "extract here", I used that all the time.

I currently have an Extract All option when right-clicking a ZIP file.  This is Windows Explorer specific and not added by OneCommander.  It could be that I have a Windows update that added it, but I cannot explain why you also do not have it.  This is the latest Windows 11 that I am running.  You should be able to add it, if it is missing for you.  It may require editing the registry though.

It turns out this issue has nothing to do with OneCommander.

As a temporary replacement I will use NanaZip.

Kind regards,
Mike
