Bike share launching in OneBusAway Android in Tampa

This week we’re rolling out the new bike share feature in OneBusAway Android in Tampa.

Thanks again to Rodrigo Carvalho for all his hard work over the summer implementing this as part of the Google Summer of Code!

 

Any region can easily launch bikeshare – all you need to do is set up an OpenTripPlanner server (very similar to setting up OBA) and add a bikeshare feed (we focus on the General Bikeshare Feed Specification (GBFS), but OTP supports a number of other API formats too).  There is a section at the bottom of the article with more details and links.

 

All feedback is welcome!  It’s still a work-in-progress.
