It was my most luckiest day few years back, when I first met with Brig. (Retd) Usman Khalid at his sister’s residency in Islamabad. He had organized a press conference to formally announce his political party, Rifah Party Pakistan. During many days before this press conference, I was continuously in touch with him in London from Pakistan and was pursuing him to take Rifah Part one step ahead with initiating membership campaign on large scale. The dream was coming true and the opportunity to meet with a visionary person was adding more joy to my day.

Since then, I never missed an opportunity to have a chat or an internet conversation with him, whenever I saw him online. We sometimes talked briefly, sometimes; our discussions went hours long, covering all aspect of life, especially Kashmir, Current Affairs and creation of federation of CAR estates.

I always found myself curious to find a quick and solid solution of Kashmir to help our Kashmiri brothers and sisters to get rid of Indian slavery. But I found him more curious to explain and lay down a plan to achieve this objective. He was a strong supporter of Kashmir’s integration with Pakistan and of an opinion that without this, neither Pakistan nor Kashmir would ever be able to live with peace and stability. He always admired of the struggle of Kashmiris against Indian slavery.

Now, he is not in between us, I feel like a I will be missing something in my life. That something will be his guidance. I always found him co-operative.

I last met him in summer when he was in Pakistan. He was residing in his sister's house in F-8 Islamabad.

His condition suddenly went worse and Janab Sami ullah Malik called me from London to get his booking early. I went to his house and got his booking for the very next day to London.
After that I was never fortunate enough to have a chat or talk with him. However, I say thanks to Allah that Allah had allowed me to see him once before his sad dismissal.

It was a sudden news and a shock for me. He was a true Pakistani, a great and committed Kashmiri freedom fighter, a true lover of Musalman Umma and far more than the word "Patriotic" could even describe someone.

I pray to Allah to grant her peace in Paradise. Ameen, Sum a Ameen.
