Hi everyone,

Am curious about the difference between the following two oncocodes: small bowel cancer and small intestinal carcinoma. The NCI code for these is the same. Small bowel cancer also has an additional level - duodenal adenocarcinoma in the oncotree, but this could just as well fit under small intestinal carcinoma? I don't understand the distinction between the two codes. When would you use one over the other?

Also what do you do for cases where there is no matching oncotree code? For instance I have a few patients with pancreatic squamous cell cancer for which there is no matching code.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks, Maria. You are correct about them being the same. We will be merging them and adding appropriate subclassifications.

For the ones you don't see a code, please send them over. We will consult with committee members for their additions.

Thanks,
Ritika
