Hello,

I have recently started using Oncotree and noticed that about 40% of the entries are missing mappings to other resources like NCIT or UMLS. Some manual spot checks show that many of these entries would actually have an appropriate mapping in one of these resources.

I also see in older posts questions about mapping to DOID - I agree this would be useful from a data integration perspective.

Is anyone currently working on such mappings? If not, would a contribution from my group be of interest to increase the coverage of mappings?

Is the source data currently available in a form that community members can directly contribute to, such as a Github repository (this would be my preferred approach)?

Kind regards,
Ben

Hi Ben,

Thank you for reaching out and apologies for the delay. We do want to finish all the gaps for these mappings and would be happy to collaborate on this. Currently, the mapping is located here: https://github.com/cBioPortal/oncotree/blob/master/scripts/ontology_to_ontology_mapping_tool/ontology_mappings.txt

You can send a PR to that and we can work on reviewing and merging it.

Thanks,
Ritika
