New Yard Butterfly - Zabulon Skipper at Harrow, August 21, 2024

Today a male Zabulon skipper was nectaring on one of the many lantanas in my backyard in Harrow. By the time I went into the house and got my camera it was gone. About 5 minutes later I discovered a fresher male individual in a clover field about 200 south of my house and was able to capture a fair photo. All 12 individuals that I encountered in Essex County this summer were males. Has anyone observed any females in this second brood?

Lots of Zabulons have been reported on iNat this year.  This link should show you those observed on July 10 or later (I just took a wild guess at a date that would fall between broods):
