@PaigeRory This message typically means that Origin can't verify your ownership of a game. Whether it's because Origin is having issues or your computer is blocking its connection to EA servers isn't always clear.
You can also try repairing the game: open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair. When you do this, run Origin as an admin: right-click on its shortcut and select "Run as administrator." Run both Origin and Sims 4 as an admin when you try to play as well.
This is happening to me too, I bought sims last year and have spent hundreds on packs and now Its asking for DisplayName field missing from registry\. Ive looked through my emails and I have no product code for it and It wont let me play sims without it, I playing on a mac so it wont let me right click to repair and I dont know what to do?
@zatily Does your Origin game library load properly, and if so, is Sims 4 listed there? You can absolutely right-click on a game tile and select Repair; if you haven't enabled right-click, hold down the crtl key and click.
@jadoe208 It sounds like you're signed into the wrong Origin account, as in, not the one that owns Sims 4, or in the case of a Steam install, not the one linked to the Steam account that owns Sims 4. The game will only work if you're using the correct account. If you can't figure out what account that is, you can contact EA customer support and ask for help.
I HAVE FINALLY FOUND THE SOLUTION. All you need to do is uninstall origin completely then reinstall. And I mean delete every single origin file, completely wipe it from your computer and then reinstall off a browser. dont worry you wont lose any data, because its saved in your EA account you can log back in to. I had this same problem!! couldnt find my "product number" anywhere, I wanted to play the sims 4 and finally I figured it out. I realize this is months later but I do hope this helps someone because I felt helpless earlier, and this will help!! just incase, try installing it from a different browser/google login if you use chrome when you install it. sometimes it thinks youre a fraud etc. thats what I did when I reinstalled origin and it worked.
3. select origin AS WELL AS THE GAME THATS NOT WORKING! For me I selected both origin and the sims 4. it might work if you only select origin Im not sure. After selecting, click Uninstall and uninstall the program(s).
@Laylaaa29 You can use Revo Uninstaller to remove Sims 4 instead. It's free and fairly simple to use. Just make sure to rename the user folder, the one in Documents\Electronic Arts, to something that doesn't include "Sims 4," so Revo doesn't flag it for deletion. That folder contains your saves and other user data.
DisplayName field missing from registry
can't even launch the game with this error popping up each time, contacted support but they've directed me here in hopes I will find help in fixing this problem so I can play my game again.
I bought fifa 23 yesterday and download but when ı want open game origin says "ACTIVATION REQUIRED
To play DisplayName field missing from registry\., you must first activate it on your EA account."I wrote to the authorities twice but what they said didnt work
Hey! I have been having some issues with launching Battlefield V. So, whenever I try to launch the game, a big box of text pops up (DisplayNameFIeld missing from registry). I am sure I am using the original account that bought the game and it even says that I have 100+ hours in the game. I have tried to uninstall and repair the game but no luck. EA app is also up to date.
Hey @imfurey,
I have merged your post with an already existing thread about this.
Could you take a look at the marked Solution and report back if this works for you?
If not, please collect some EA app logs and generate an EA app Error Reporter ID and share the Error ID with us here in the thread.
Whenever I try to launch Titanfall 2 I get the following error message: "too many computers have accessed this account's version of displayname field missing from registry".
I have contacted EA text support but they were unable to do anything to help. Is there any way to get around this and actually play the game I paid for?
I'm playing on Steam and I haven't either launched the game through another device or signed into my account through another device. I haven't launched the game while using a VPN or anything like that.
@EA_Leeuw I just reformatted my SSD and reinstalled Windows 10. Still getting this with Anthem. Tried it a month ago as well and got the same thing. Submitted the error report via the EA App like you guided others to do. I've attached the log files compressed as requested. Thanks!
