Ans: A sound booster can amplify the speaker or headphone volume. It can be used to boost the volume of your iPhone and Android devices. You can easily listen to audio records, youtube videos, and much more.
Ans: Yes, such software distorts the audio if you use them at a maximum volume. This might also result in speaker damage. Hence, it is not advisable to not use such software at high volume continuously.
Boom is most likely the culprit to your speaker failing. Boom uses algorithms to increase the overall volume of the track to a point without clipping. Pushing speakers beyond what they are supposed to do can and will cause damage to them. The reason the speakers have a maximum volume is that is the safest high fidelity sound they can produce.
Your speakers were designed to be able to dissipate the heat of a normal music stream - Radio, CD, MP3, etc - even on full volume.Add software to make that speaker move far more than it was ever designed to do & the heat build-up will eventually melt the wire in the coil, if it doesn't actually vibrate the entire structure to breakage first.
It takes much more energy to produce bass frequencies than treble frequencies, so in a 2-way speaker system, the bass is just more likely to give out first.
Yes, Boom is the culprit. It tore my speaker cones on Macbook Pro 2012 non retina. Boom not even once mentioned it would cause such issues, it similarly damaged my wired headphones after a year of boom boost.
No technology on the planet can make thumb-sized laptop speakers sound better than what Apple delivers out of the box. Apart from processing the signal and equalizing it, making it sound louder stresses the driver and degrades the quality.
I watch a lot of Emby on my android phone in rather loud places. Is there any way we can add an option to boost/amplify the volume? I listen on a bluetooth earpiece (not headphones) and I have to think others would find this useful.
Yes I know where the volume control is :). There are many volume boosters out there that are ad driven and mostly don't work with emby. They expect a music player. As for distortion, let us be the judge of that :). Some of these shows are so low volume that even moderate background noise makes it hard to hear. Not much volume on a bluetooth device.
I have a volume booster app thats work but only for a couple hours. Would be nice to have one built into emby. I know its possible to do bc other streaming apps I have used has volume boost so I dont understand why it would be so complicated to implement in emby.
Im not being smart I am just saying. Trust me I appreciate all the work u guys do behind the scenes especially u @LukeI am just saying it has been brought up before. Keep fighting the good fight brother trust me I think u guys are exceptional with what u do.
Problem you may be having, or feature you want:
I want to have feature Boost Volume like in PocketCast! Because my phone not quite loud to listen audio even I use headphone and when it comes on me phone speaker is Sh**
I would really like to have a player (open source?) that offers volume boost, silence skip and variable speed playback. I think that if the project had those features, it would bea great bonus. Those features could almost be considered table stakes.
For variable speed you can also tap the speed icon next to rewind button. It would allow you to change speed. To choose which speed to use you have to long tap and it will open a dialog. (This dialog is also accessible from apps settings and playback settings)
Finally it is also possible to define which speed a podcast should use by default when playing an episode. To do it you have to go to podcast screen (the one which lists episodes) and go to podcast specific settings.
(Edit: while looking for Android solutions for this, I found that there is a setting in the developers options to turn off absolute volume, which means that I have two ways to control the volume: the headphones and the phone. I can find a better suited volume this way.)
I I am nearly deaf and I need volume booster there are some apps which can boost the volume of files but I can't find any that will boost the volume that's coming directly from Pandora is there anyway that anyone else that I can bring the volume of Pandora for my iPhone without this I probably won't be able to keep my subscription any advice would be helpful
We don't alter music equalization on Pandora from how it appears on the original releases, unlike terrestrial radio, which compresses the entire broadcast. As a result, some songs sound louder (or lower) than others. However, we do use the Replay Gain technique that encodes a fixed volume adjustment into the mp3/mp4 header so that the actual player (web browser, phone or device) can adjust volume just as the track begins playing. If there are vast differences, it could also be due to different instrumentation or arrangements causing different apparent levels of volume where the actual decibel levels are the same.
I've downloaded 12 volume booster apps on my iPhone and not one of them work with Pandora - they only work with Apple Music or songs I have downloaded myself onto my iPhone. Where they list the "music services" they work with, Pandora is never one of them.

Well I have "Iconia" external bike speakers that I attach to the top of the bike and I connect those speakers to the headphone input on the iPod. But even with the speakers and iPod volumes maxed, the speakers don't seem loud enough. Was wondering if any of these apps (Like 'Equalizer+) might help.
2. You can enable max volume by going to Settings -> Music -> Volume Limit and making sure the slider is at the maximum. It is possibly that the apps could bypass software limitations that are designed to keep someone from blowing out their eardrums, but I can't say which ones, if any, actually have that capability.
Well I did find a volume booster for Android (which my Iconia tablet uses) and it DID boost the volume there. (Several other apps I tried did nothing at all). I was hoping I could find one to do the same for the iPod. Oh well.
Sooooo. I finally found a volume booster for IOS 6 that DOES boost the volume on my iPod (yay). It's called 'Equalizer+ (by Pensberg System LP)'. It's Free. To boost the sound you choose the 'Settings' option and then slide the "Player; Output Gain'' all the way to the right. Really increased my music on my bike speakers, had to even turn it down for a few songs, heh. The ''Equalizer Pro ($3.99)" and "Equalizer+ Pro ($2.99)" versions have more features but there's a nominal fee for them.
Say goodbye to low volume frustrations and embrace a world of amplified sound. Boost your audio by up to 600% and elevate your audio journey instantly. Download now and immerse yourself in a seamless audio experience!
We have a major issue with our store. We have volume booster installed to allow quantity discounts on products. It works great until a customer either selects a faster shipping method or is an international customer. When either is done, it either brings the price of all items down to $1.00 each or $0.00 each. Last night an order came is for $321.25, once the customer selected shipping, the total of the order went down to $17.34. How do we fix this?
Would really need to see this in action to be able to offer any help, but would strongly suggest you reach out to the app developer. If prices are being dropped like that it would not be default Shopfiy behaviour so some unexpected discounting (or similar) is kicking in.
Do is still happen when that app is not in place?
I am getting a Helix this week and I am in the process of planning some stuff ahead of time and reading/watching videos on how to do some of what I know I will want. I have an HD500 and have used the 4CM setup with it and other units so I'm not starting totally from scratch.
