Suggestion: Split "About Respondents" page option

On one of our rather large surveys, with approx 50 questions on page 2
(i.e. about respondents and their beliefs), we have received quite a
bit of negative feedback bco the length of the page. This is quite
understandable, as it can seem somewhat overwhelming, possibly leading
to lower response rates (an intuitive notion recently analyzed by
Toepoel et al. in Field Methods Vol. 21, No. 2, 200-213 (2009)).

Thus it would have been very convenient to be able to split this
section into several pages. This would of course complicate matters a
bit for you compared to the present layout, but perhaps worth
considering..

Thanks Andreas for the suggestion.
You are right that it would complicate matters a bit. However, it doesn't
change the number of questions you have. Do you think you would get a higher
response rate with say 2x25 questions?
