GREENVILLE AVENUE NEWS:
The Ebola infections have been the big news around here lately, and it hit pretty close to home for those in or near the Greenville Avenue areas. The first patient from Liberia visited family in the Ivy Apartments in the 7200 block of Fair Oaks not far from Upper Greenville. He was admitted into Texas Health Presbyterian which is between Central Expressway and Upper Greenville on Walnut Hill. Then patient two Nina Pham who worked at the hospital contacted the virus and drove herself to work from her home on the M Streets on the 5700 block of Marquitas right off Lower Greenville from the San Francisco Rose. Workers decontaminated her apartment building. The third patient Amber Vinson lives in the 6000 block of Village Bend Drive in the Village near Upper Greenville. Her apartment was also decontaminated. I have received several reports from constituents living in or near these areas. Jim “III” Pike walked his dog near Nina Pham’s apartment the evening after it had been decontaminated and snapped a picture. Randy “The Enforcer” - the Captain of the Fifth Ward lives in the Village and supplied the first information that I heard about patient three Amber being infected. “Skippy” and other constituents of mine live in the Village too. I will pass on anything that I hear and can substantiate that the national and local media might miss. Hopefully, this is the last of this horrible disease! Again, unless anyone has contact with the bodily fluids of a person who has the symptoms, they will not catch it. The two nurses had direct contact with Mr. Duncan’s bodily fluids. Pray for those infected.

THE DALLAS SEEN:
As usual many of Dallas’ most prominent were sighted on and off the Avenue the last two weekends! Here are just a few of those sightings!
Of course the biggest news in town except for the Ebola news, was that the Mayor of Gaston Avenue (H.O.F.#137) turned 50! And as usual with his celebrations they lasted more than one day! On Sunday 10/12, many of Dallas’ prominent and former greats who lived here showed up at the Barley House. They included Tony G! – the Captain of the Fourth Ward, Robert and Judy from Houston, the Mayor of Gaston’s brother – George, Ken “Otter” Ott, and many, many more! On the actual day of the Mayor’s birthday on Wednesday 10/15, another celebration was held at the Henderson Tap Room! Many more greats showed up including Matt Amon, Joel, Greg, Tony G!, Ken Ott and Courtney! Great times were had by all at both events!
