i'm not clear. are we still collecting soda cans? this is a labor-intensive effort. sure, we want free materials, and we love to recycle,  but at some point, we will decide that our time is not a recyclable element.  there might be another way to use the soda cans however. ! can we have a tech meeting? for brainstorming and debunking and devil's advocacy?

also, can science and sustainability add a medical unit?  i have a retired nurse in mind for "professional" medical guesswork. i think she could be useful to the community.

Yes, we are still collecting cans. I recently spoke with Damian and his concerns seemed to be a combination of finances, time, and commitment. We agreed that we should create at least one demonstration/prototype of a solar panel from soda cans. We will approach this same concept with the plastic drums and all other projects. So, everything is experimental for the most part until we have a better understanding of what goes into this type of creation before mass producing equipment and making it accessible to the public.

This YouTube video will give you a better idea as to how we plan to use the soda cans. As Damian stated, "The problem is traditional soda can solar air heating modules are not designed to store heat."

I recently watched a lecture/teach-in by Douglas Mallette on sustainability. Douglas is a former Systems Engineer for the Space Shuttle Program, and is now pursuing the start up of his own company, Cybernated Farm Systems, dedicated to using technology to help humanity by using 21st century capabilities to quell the global hunger problem.
According to Douglas:
Basic Necessities of Life (Biological)

Air

Food

Water

Sleep

Medical Care

I point this out because a medical unit is very crucial to being a sustainable society. So please invite the retired nurse into our community.

Douglas goes on to say:

Additional Necessities for a High Quality of Life (QoL)

Shelter

Clothing

Education

Energy

Transportation

Communication

And, I too, believe a tech meeting for brainstorming is very important. I don't want us to begin thinking that achieving certain projects present by this working group aren't achievable. So if anyone's willing to meet outside of the working group's scheduled meeting I'm open for this.

If anyone missed the YouTube vidoe as to how we plan to use the drums, view link-
