Dear Urban Agriculturists,
Action needed:
If you run a community garden in Newark please help our city achieve Sustainable Jersey Certification and access to sustainable development funds through submitting your answers to a questionnaire by WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH
Background:
Newark's Green Team is gearing up to submit an application for Sustainable Jersey Certification.
Applications with a high number of points have access to increasingly higher sustainable development grants for the city's communities.
A municipality can earn 10 points for supporting an active community garden. Newark's Adopt-a-lot program qualifies under this requirement.
Additional points can be earned if the garden policies require all members to practice environmentally friendly gardening practices (5 points) and garden leadership coordinates efforts to donate some of the garden produce to local food pantries or other food distribution efforts (5 points).
All the best to you and yours - Huge thanks for helping to support sustainability in the City of Newark.
Have a safe and happy weekend,
Jamie Bruno
