On Thursday, May 5th, 2016 from 8:00am – 5:00pm, the New Jersey Urban Mayors Association (NJUMA) will convene the 2016 Urban Agriculture as an Economic Development Tool Conference in Trenton, NJ.  There is no cost to attend.  The NJUMA membership will be introduced to the economic possibilities that exist through urban agriculture.

 

Participants will gather and demonstrate their commitment to the shared goals of creating jobs, growing our economy and improving our quality of life.

 

This conference is intentionally designed to attract and facilitate interaction, learning, and information exchange among a diverse group of stakeholders in New Jersey’s urban and rural economic development future.

 

These stakeholders include:

 

o   New Jersey Mayors of Urban and Rural Municipalities and their respective department heads

o   Other state and local officials, elected and appointed

o   Public and private sector economic development professionals and practitioners (including UEZ Coordinators, Engineers, Business Administrators, etc.)

o   Institutions of Higher Education (community colleges and four-year institutions), boards of education

o   Federal, state and local economic development agencies

o   State, regional, and local Chambers and EDC executives

o   Site selection and development professionals

o   Officials interested in reentry opportunities

o   Institutions of higher education and boards of education

o   Recreation Departments
