You’re cordially invited to listen to a lunchtime presentation by Andrea Collins, a Sustainable Food Systems Specialist at the Natural Resources Defense Council.

 

Please see the flyer attached. The talk is entitled “Lifting The Lid on Wasted Food: Estimating the Baseline of Wasted Food in Newark”.

 

The calculator tool used to generate Newark’s baseline is described in more detail on this webpage: Introduction to Baselining of Food Waste Generation and Food Rescue Potential. Andrea has run the tool for Newark using publicly available datasets and will share NRDC’s estimates for food waste generation across multiple sectors as well as the potential scale of food available for rescue from a number of types of food businesses.
